Scarlett Johansson is an American singer and actress born in New York City New York on November 22, 1984. Her acting has earned her acclaim across a wide range of genres including historical drama, thrillers and action adventures. Johansson is the daughter of an architect and producer was brought up as a child in New York City. Her twin brother Hunter and her were her youngest siblings. When she reached seven years old, her passion for acting was growing. Her first audition was for commercials. In order to improve her abilities, she studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan followed by at the Professional Children's School. At age eight she appeared with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry, and at nine she made her film debut with Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson later appeared in Just Cause (1995), but her first break was through Manny & Lo a coming of age movie about two sisters who run away. The Horse Whisperer (2000), in which she played the role of a teenage girl who has a deformity because of an accident earned an acclaim from critics. Then in Ghost World 2001 (as the young, sarcastic teenager Rebecca) Johansson received an even greater amount of attention. She made a commercial for Dannon. Like many actresses who are new have done, she decided to further develop her talent in theatre. Additionally, she was involved in various projects throughout the USA as well, and Wildflower was her first stage production. She attended the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
